Wild Yoga adventure
Yoga sessions are a synthesis of Flow, Hatha, Somatic movement and Qi Gong. There will be a mixture of seated meditation, active meditation and walking meditation. All sessions will be suitable for all levels of abilities and there are modifications and levels throughout to suit every body.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 Fly from UK to Austria
Today, you will fly to Austria and arrive at the wonderful Sonnenburg Hotel. You will have the opportunity to meet your group and your yoga teacher and outdoors adventurer for the week, Kathryn Fa (see in pic above). Kat's sessions aim to inspire a greater compassion for the self while cultivating a strong mental and physical practise outdoors.
Day 2 Post Travel Yoga & Evening Active Meditation
First thing this morning you will take part in some post-travel yoga, right outside on the Hotel Sonnenburgs’s terrace. You will be introduced to the incredibly beautiful surroundings of Ehrwald and will see just how the fresh mountain air lends itself spectacularly to exercise for both the mind and the body.
After you enjoy a well timed breakfast at the Sonnenburg, you will have an afternoon to spend at your leisure. This is a great opportunity to discover what Ehrwald has to offer. Marvel at the Zugspitze Glacier, the highest peak in Germany or explore the wonderfully quaint town.
Before your evening meal, you will enjoy some Evening Active Meditation. This is a great way to wind down for the day, feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Day 3 Wild Yoga & Evening Restoritive Yoga
This morning you will enjoy breakfast in the Sonnenburg before heading on a walk to the nearby lake. Here you will be lead in a ‘Wild Yoga’ session where the fabulous harmony of mountain, lake and grass lends itself wonderfully well to a fantastic yoga session.
After this you can make the most of the wonderful surroundings and enjoy a picnic brunch by the lake. Take your time here before a walk back to the hotel.
In the evening, having had a relaxing, yet active day, you will work on some Evening Restorative Yoga, Qi Gong, and Meditation.
Day 4 Country Walk & Wild Yoga
Today, make the most of your breakfast to prepare yourself for a wonderful alpine walk. You will take in some of the most beautiful scenic views as you get in an amongst this wonderful part of the world. In the summer in Austria, fresh greenery comes to life, wildlife populates the terrain and the land lends itself to fantastic activities in an absolutely breathtaking area of natural beauty. You will take part in another session of Wild Yoga during the walk and on location. Yoga helps regular walkers become more flexible, mindful and aligned when they hike as well as offering greater lung capacity and overall fitness.
Once you return back to the hotel, you will enjoy a well earned evening meal. This may be a good opportunity to make use of the hotel’s sauna to ease weary muscles or rest in the hotel’s relaxation area.
Day 5 Wild Yoga & Restoritive Candlelit Yoga
Go for breakfast before walking to the lake once again to enjoy some morning meditation. You’ll find this a great way to start off the day, relaxed and in a positive frame of mind. You will then practise Wild Yoga by the lake side breathing in the fresh alpine air and clearing your mind while exercising the body.
You will have some free time in the afternoon to spend at your leisure before a fantastic restorative candlelit yoga session.
Day 6 Rise & Shine Yoga & Cable Car Trip to the Glacier
Start your day the very best way with some ‘Rise & Shine’ yoga. Your teacher will lead you in a class that will awaken the senses prepare the body and mind for the day ahead.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast afterwards and prepare to take a cable car trip up to the glacier. This is a phenomenal experience and you will be able to see up close, the glacier that towers over Ehrwald. From here you will walk back via Gamsalmh, which lies in a breathtaking mountain world on the sunny side of the Zugspitze below the Gamskar. It’s a great place to stop for a break and take in the spectacular views.
Upon arrival back to the hotel, you will enjoy a well earned evening meal.
Day 7 Day at Leisure
Today you have a day to do as you please in Ehrwald or beyond if you wish. For hiking and walking enthusiasts, Ehrwald is a dream destination. With an almost unlimited number of trails including meadowland trails, hiking trails and climbing trails, no matter how much of a challenge you're after, you'll find it here.
Or why not try some mountain biking. Due to its diverse terrain and challenging gravel trails, Ehrwald is a well-loved area for mountain bikers. Not only does the area provide a wide range of cycle paths, including narrow forest tracks as well as much wider pathways, but mountain biking in Ehrwald gives you a front row seat to the area's phenomenal beauty.
Day 8 Return Home
Today you will be transferred to the airport from which you will return home feeling relaxed, restored and refreshed.
